There is big news surrounding All Souls! In the heart of the Five Points neighborhood in downtown Denver, between the 28th and 29th blocks on Welton Street, there is a charming old house tucked in between two small brick buildings.
Introducing: All Souls’ new Outreach and Resource Center.
This will now serve as All Souls' main headquarters, allowing all services, programs, and operations to be conducted under the same roof. In addition, the location at 2852 Welton St. plans to have a temporary managed community on-site to host those who may be in a transitional phase of their journey after maximizing their shelter time. The lease for the location was signed on Monday, April 1st, and is now fully operational.
Goals of the Outreach and Resource Center
Along with being the center of operations for All Souls, the house on Welton St. will serve a bigger purpose. There are many significant plans underway that will help our new headquarters become not just another office space, but a place for community, nourishment, and personal growth. Within the coming months, the All Souls Outreach and Resource Center will have:
An in-house community kitchen space and food pantry. This will act as a safe place for meal prep, weakly community meals, and a means to access healthy and fresh food.
A community garden where fresh produce can be grown, maintained, and used to make meals that can be eaten together at the community table.
A donation-based community closet with access to clean seasonal clothing, survival gear, and basic home goods.
A business center equipped with computers, internet, and basic office supplies. The business center will also contain a small-business and employment-related resource program to assist those who are starting their own business or seeking employment elsewhere. Workshops and mentorship will also be provided to those who can benefit.
An on-site attorney who can serve up to three clients per day in completing asylum and work-permit paperwork.
An outdoor space with the capacity to hold between 100-150 tents to assist those who are transitioning into more permanent housing.
A Zen Space equipped with bunkbeds that will function as a safe and relaxing space for people to rest and nap during the day.
Looking Forward
As with any big project, these things take time. There are a few permits and legal actions required for these designs to be implemented, but rest assured that we are completely committed to seeing all of our goals come to fruition.
Projects like these would not be possible without you and your donations. So first, THANK YOU. And second, please continue to donate and support All Souls so that we can continue to support those in need. You can do this by following us on Facebook or checking out our website to stay up to date.
